We have been very busy at Loyola Jesuit Secondary School (LJSS) since the first class arrived in September 2015.  The Form One learners (Frosh — Grade Nine) went right to work, with teachers and staff introducing them to life at a Jesuit educational institution.  No time for “distractions”!  That was followed by the introduction of of a new Form One in September 2016.  Again, plenty busy times!

Headteacher Fr. Simon Makuru, S,J., wisely decided that the time now was right for a formal and official “Opening Ceremony” as we were closing out our second year at LJSS.  And that is how 24 June 2017 came to be a very special day with plenty of prayers, joyful singing and dancing, encouraging speeches and special eats.  The Provincial of  Zambia-Malawi and the Minister of Education of the Government of Malawi shared strong words about the values of Jesuit education and the contribution LJSS is making to Malawi society.

Please take a look at this six minute video and join all of us at LJSS with prayers of gratitude for the many different donors who have made possible our beautiful campus:

As we move into our third year this coming September 2017, we will be finalising construction and frnishing of our Chapel and provision of equipment for our clinic.  Desks for additonal classrooms are being secured, along with bunk beds for the additional hostels.

Please consider a contribution at this time to keep Loyola Jesuit Secondary School on schedule, cooperating with our many friends in preparing young Malawians to make a difference in the future development of our beautiful country. Go to Donations to assist us with credit card or mailed contributions — thank you so very much!
